Six new taskforces launched by HMRC
HMRC have announced that they have launched six new taskforces which will target traders who do not pay the right amount of tax. The taskforces will tackle:

  • Indoor and outdoor markets in London
  • Taxi firms in Yorkshire and East Midlands
  • Property rentals in East Anglia, London, Yorkshire and the North East
  • Restaurants in the Midlands

they'll have some fun if they try taxis in stoke-on-trent, 80% of the drivers don't speak english. ( clue, most are bearded ).

Not my problem, those with beards will need to invest in translators to understand whats going on and its NOT the tax payer who should pay the bill

and they should get DVLA involved. put a stop to driving on uncle's licence and cousin's insurance, and m-o-t s done in islamabad.

starts with a p, and it's not poland.

I wonder will they combine the terrorist investigations at the same time,2 birds with one stone

A sort of efficiency drive, collecting pound notes before giving out free vests with every successful enquiry

strange they always go after the working man..they just have to say oops, didnt realise that was wrong and all is forgiven..ah no its just the rich ones who get way with that excuse

I'm thinking of asking my accountant if I can use the same scheme as Jimmy Carr!!

I'd love to only pay 1% income tax.

In my mind income is income so how some overpaid pen pushing accountant can get away with saying its not is beyond me. Jimmy Carr, and others earn money by entertainment, and that's "earn" so its subjest to income tax or tax on dividends - either way its far more than 1%

Im actualy surprised they have the time to look for MORE avoiders as they seem to have taken loads of time making sure GRFC are wiped from the face of the planet WATP btw
