I like the incoming supply straight in to the consumer unit with an outgoing 100A MCB feeding the bus-bars. From the bus-bars a further 100A MCB feeding the fuse board. From there it degenerates further.

KInda get a feeling this drawing is 50yrs + as the dist 3ph board is old design, no earthing to light fittings amongst other things and perfectly legit considering the time of print but of course nothing close to modern regs in many areas.

The distribution boards are still available and still used in a lot of industries. MCB’s will never take out fuses all together. Fuses are more reliable for a start.

i assumed by the diagram they were rewirable fuses as it shows earthing to light switches but not the light points and also the cable sizing is akin to practices done in the 50's and 60's, yes tony will confirm they still do boards and i myself still implement cartridge, barrel and bottle fuses in my control panels and supply boards especially where high inertia loads with long run up times are involved, although mccb with adjustable settings may do the job the expense is sometime not an option... ps ... note to self....must remember to put sarcasm emoticon on posts in future :stuart:
