hi kung
are you with nic??
did they ask to see your completed building notice as mine did

Not with anyone at mo Flukey but even if you dont notify LABC you still wont fail its just a non compliance i know a couple of people this has happend to plus you get time to notify after job completed even if they did ask i only done it yesterday so will take a while to sort.

thats correct kung.
on my assesssment i was told that not notifying labc is a non compliance.
if everything else is in order then this is not a problem.
if however you dont pass and have to notify labc after the event they could ask you to expose wall chases etc to prove correct zones etc as ALL work must be notified to labc BEFORE any work starts
however if you are 100% certain of your abilities and can satisfy scheme providers expectations then you will be fine

Thats not a bad idea Kung! "Inform LABC about planned work, then after receiving the letter, change the date!" Then subject to passing?? I self certify the work myself! Magic!
Also got a letter saying planned work is logged! genius!!!..;)

Kung for prime minister!!!

Agree Flukey lol
I did say i did notify LABC and as i have all dead test results for them thats them sorted ! will just change it again regarding address/date its been a right pain ive had 2 places postpone the jobs now im doing my own garage CU the LABC told me the assessment notifications are a massive pain in the rear for them as if you pass you can notify in normal way and if fail (you'd have to do something magger stupid to !) you can still go through them they would rather people went that route !
Its a right pain as its £140 for them but £1.70 when you pass the assessment !
When you look at requirments it states notify LABC thats it ! not have completed notice. As long as you notify them and have letter your covered.
Regards
Kung.
P.s. plus onece ive passed then the later job notified to LABC i then go back to LABC and tell them its not going ahead now due to no funds etc and can i have my money back ! been told i will get a refund if this happens !
EAT MY SHORTS building control !

i hope your garage is attached to your house because i did a detached garage rewire and tried to use it for nic assessment and was told i couldnt because the work wasnt notifiable

Thanks Flukey
Didnt know that, my garage is 10ft from the back of my house and in my garden thought i could. Better replace my main house CU who told you ? NICEIC ? Told LABC about it and they still took my £137.50 and noted it.

nic only class the cable from the house to the garage as notifiable. anything inside is not
this was confirmed to me when i first booked my assessment in january this year so i had to show 2 other jobs

How does testing etc work then if you replace garage cu ? and if not notifiable is it a minor cert ? as cu ? plus if some person wanted power supplied to a detatched garage etc does this mean the only cert/testing is done on supply cable only and cu and circuits dont need testing/certing or do they class them as minor ? What a grey area m8 ! think i need a chat with Tony cable from NICEIC first thing monday
Cheers

With regards to the NICEIC assessment. A copy of both EAWR and DOC P must be provided. Can anyone tell me if these need to be in publication format or can they be downloaded copies??.
