Hi all

This post might only be applicable to Scottish members.

I am thinking about joining the nic eic domestic installer scheme. What i would like to know is does this scheme allow you to issue electrical condition reports? or is that only for Approved Contractors?

I am mostly cover domestic work and carry out condition reports (with a friend who is registered under another scheme) but want to do these for myself.

Any info very much appreciated

Why not? half the EICRs I have seen were clearly carried out without an MFT, usually without even entering the property for that matter!

Fair point dave!
you have got to give them some credit though, it must take a lot of concentration to fill in certs and hold the steering wheel at the same time, while driving past the property.

They have a camera, which uses software like facial recognition, but its for houses. Instantly can tell the info about the house and fills in the report automatically...
