You are asking quite a different question here.

Technically they should accept any certs from any of the schemes, but as already said in earlier posts, LABC's are a law unto themselves and it varies widely, some indeed do insist on NIC accreditation, this is wrong IMO.

To clarify:
This is for if you wish to contract for the LABC, they will accept certs from any of the schemes for your own customers notification.

Hi Newman,

My previous post was not very clear.

If you want to do contract work for the council directly, ie. schools, libraries and council offices, and say council housing stock etc., some will insist that you are with the NIC, probably approved contractor status rather than DI.

If you are just doing your own private work which is notifiable, then there is no difference between any of the schemes in this regard, and all LABC's will accept all certs from all schemes.

I hope this clears up my earlier statement.

Elecsa say that if anyone states that NIC registration is required then let them know. Nobody should discriminate (officially) between schemes....
