Hi Guys, I am opening up a night club and the fire offiicer has come round and he states that i need lighting to come on when the fire alarm goes in to alarm

Currently i have some house lights Halogen downlights that are controled by a dimmer switch (Just like the ones at home!!) and i was wondering if an electrican could put a relay accross the dimmer!? so that they go to full brightness.

how easy / cheap / complex / expensive will depend on how the club lighting is controlled but it wont be a 10min / ÂŁ50 job , probably a fair bit of work unless the lighting controls and fire panel are next to each other.

If you do just need to bring house lights on to full brightness then yes that could be done by installing a relay in parallel with the existing dimmer switching. It's pretty much the same principal as in a fire station when a call comes in the lights come on.
