Please can an admin look at why I can't have access to GARAGE INSTALLATION PART P thread?
Yesterday I couldn't access a couple of threads also, saying no access

You would need to ask admin for access mate as it is restricted. Not sure where they stand on giving trainees access though.

I'm using my phone and under notifications it didn't show the section but I presumed it wasn't the arms and never knew I was restricted from any other section, if it's the diy section then fair enough, I wasn't sure if it was an error, thanks for the replies lads

I did only want to read, I very rarely reply since my knowledge is limited, after working for 5 months with an electrical and mechanical firm I finally start my apprenticeship this September so back to college learning again

have a look at swindon massive before your tests

before buying any books i would wait to see what your tutor recommends

Cheers that will be a massive help, I already have t lindsey electrical installation level 1 I think it is, it's what we used when I did s year of evenings doing the 2365
I know I'll need the BGB at some point
And I have the OSG
I used Swindon massive to pass my first year of 2365, it's a good website
At least I've done a year of 2365 and passed so it won't be as overwhelming this time because I'll already know a lot, although I'll of also forgotten some because 99% of what we learned in the class in year 1 has not been used on any job yet

It's basic electrical installation level 2

I also have the advanced electrical installation but that's for the future

Hi Chris, the DIY forum is opt-in only so the only people with access are the DIY'ers themselves and the experianced members who've expressed an interest in assisting them. I've posted a thread in the staffroom for debate on whether it would be a good idea or not to allow trainees DIY forum access. You're the first trainee to request this as far as I now so we'll discuss it and get back to you in a day or two.

Thanks for the reply marvo, it's not of big importance, like I said I didn't actually know it was the diy section the post was in, on my app it didn't show the section and I knew from the post it was not the arms so if trainees can't have access to that section which I didn't know was the case that's fine by me

Hi Chris,your manners,politeness and apparent willingness to learn have prompted my response...no,i'm not after a dance partner :bow: but if you were going to invest a few quid in books,and good books ARE an investment,i can wholeheartedly recommend any by messrs Scaddan and Kitcher. Do not be tempted to believe that such books are only for use during the build up to a,say,an end of module test or similar,just having them about for reading generally,when bored,on lavvy or train,and you will be surprised when the information you will inevitably retain,will ooze back out. I have lost count of the times,what i have gleaned from a "bog-book",has gained myself a minor advantage on a job,or in a conversation...like the gent who wandered into the workshop i was working in,and bet that out of eight of us,no one knew what a "jim crow" was...not guessing that one of me favourite relaxing reads is a 1947 Buck and Hickman catalogue...:stooge_curly:

Thanks you very much for the recommendation, I will look into them now, all I have at the moment is basic electrical installation level 2 by t lindsey, we used that when doing evenings doing the 2365
I also have the blue advanced one (future book)
OSG
and a calculations book
