After not being able to get an apprenticeship in north east last year i did the college course and have the qualifications 2330 level 2 + 3 ect
I now need the on site nvq to become fully qualified. I was wondering whether there was any colleges offering this since im unable to find an employer. Or any other ways i could get this certificate

Much appreciated

yeah has to be done on site so the above way is a good option, one of the colleges is building a house my tutor was saying and they cant even use that do do it on

which college did you go with , i live in north east and cant find any college that does the course

did my nvq3 just recently with newcastle college - all done via internet with a couple of site visits - very friendly and helpfull, took about 10 weeks to get through and it was fully funded via the college.

Well out of 60 of us on the level 2 course last year less than 5 people have a work placment and yes these were kids under 18yo, the majority have given up and have no intention of wasting another year at college in particular as the college is banging on saying we cannot do NVQ Level 3 without an employer...which is a load of bull**** as i have read the City & Guilds NVQ 2356 Level 3 document from start to finish and it clearly states that self employed people can do the NVQ 3 and they dont necessarily have to do onsite visits but the candidate may be quizzed by an external verifier to ensure he knows what hes doing....
Check out ths document page 20....I am a self employed sub contractor...sometimes im in work sometimes im outta work....i just get evidence when i can.

Just give the page a few seconds to load up while the document loads.

Hi...I work for a training provider in the North East and we manage electrical apprenticeships. It's true that funding isn't readily available for those of you out of work. However, if you are working for an electrical contractor and already have your 2330 L2 & L3 but still need your NVQ, then that is something we may be able to help with. I must stress that you need to be employed as we can only draw funding for employed "apprentices". If you are self employed and already have your 2330, we can deliver NVQ's but there is a cost if you are over 19.
