I have my initial NICEIC assessment booked for DI. I do not have NVQ or 2392.
my background is railway (which i know is not covered by BS7671)
since 2010 i have been working on the railway and gained an installation licence and a test licence.
railway licences are issued by the IRSE (governing body for assessing competence for railway workers)
they are very thorough!. their assessment criteria is much the same as NIC/ elecsa etc as in you have to show adequate knowledge and demonstrate competence in order to be granted a licence.
i have to keep a logbook with a record of training, work experience, continuous professional development, record of complaints, etc etc.
i have been working since 2018 with a mate who is a spark,so can quite happily immerse myself in domestic work.
anyone else come from a railway background or have similar experience?
