im a builder just finished refurbishing a house and had a call from the house owner saying hes only getting about 195 volts out of his living room sockets does anyone know why this could be?

Have you rang the spark who installed them? You could have a loose connection between the sockets. Could be a supplier problem if its throughout the installation!

ill check its def only living room but thats what i was told over the phone, so a loose connection can def make you lose voltage ? i didnt realise this could affect voltage but thanx

You could try and find the mid point of the ring using r1&r2 calcs but in all honesty I would remove all the fronts and check all the connections, don't mess about as you may find other loose connections there. It happens to everyone but I would say the testing side should have picked this up?

If you are dropping voltage, best get it sorted and tested

Low voltage and modern electronic equipment and appliances dont make good bedfellows
Could become an very expensive problem
