So who likes the old wooden backed wylex boards , well here the reason i hate them the one ive been out to today just fell apart riddled with wood worm , and another reason why i hate them is for the fact the fuse cover when removed exposes live terminals , and in so many case when people use a single plug in MCB they leave the covers off exposing the terminals , in this install i spotted a loose earth wire doing my pre checks it went to the left hand switch fuse which was the shower nice eh no cpc's in the lighting circuits and an 80 year olds owner so its up to me to sort it out no way i can rewire due to the the disruption it can cause so its up grade to the best i can so ive lowered the consumer unit and work is in progress [ElectriciansForums.net] Not in good condition[ElectriciansForums.net] Not in good condition[ElectriciansForums.net] Not in good condition[ElectriciansForums.net] Not in good condition

sorry des not mine mine had selotape round them , the board is a CEF M2 , im fussy about which board i use and have stopped using electrium boards for 2 reasons one the recall of the mcb's and 2 the poor quality of the internal wiring , them M2 board is nice and neat and ill be honest if you can get one thats intact they are not bad , how ever the breakers have a tab on the end and when i first did an RCD test they all fell off and i have to say i did laugh then complain but out of 10 i will give them a 7 , any other M2 product i will not use end of thanks for your comments guys

Fair play Nick, you have just posted what an electrician is all about. A good job and pride in your work! I think that what part P has given us is, as long as you can test you are a good electrician, absolute boll**ks, if you can do a job like that, you will do everything correct. Just because you can test does not mean you are a good electrician!

I like that website. Love this quote...
So make sure that you don't do any electrical wiring yourself (now illegal unless you are suitably qualified), and employ a fully qualified person to do it for you!
