Hi Folks,

Advice gratefully appreciated! Mrs T is having new induction hob (7KW) and a double oven (4.1) installed.

The existing electric hob and oven is supplied by a 10mm cable.

Is the 10mm existing cable sufficient for the new oven and hob? Assuming it is, how do I supply the two items from the one cable? At the moment the 10mm cable is terminated at a wall mounted cooker switch with a socket with a 45A mcb at the consumer unit.

Thanks again.................

For me Simon it would be areas that store flammable material, for instance a Silo or Grain Store.

Also Petrol Stations, any areas that would have chemical such as a battery storage room for a UPS system, things like that.

These areas though have special and often other BS to work to. But I'm sure we will get discussions about a kitchen being more susceptible to fire than a bedroom, which of course it is, and could therefore be classed as an area that presents a fire risk

And than it leaves situations like the OP's above which is very common as a big no no if interpreted like that.

Yes James, are you going to refer to the new part about branch circuits and sockets added to it in the amendment, I noticed that as well.

No Malcolm, you flatter me. I was only going by the BRB. I was just trying to see if I could match up an unquoted (by number) reg with the actual one it pertained to.

Cheers
