Hi all,am in need of a bit of help.if anyone can i would be gratefull.just been searchin all over the internet for somwere to take my nvq 3 but cant seem to find anywhere that does it in my area. I am in the IG10 Area which is loughton in essex but this is in close proximity to east london. i have my peo nvq level 1 my c&g llevels 2 and 3 and done 17th update and am currently studying the 2391 at a local college but they do not do the nvq level 3 and this is what i need to obtain a J.I.B card with an electricians grading,at d mo i only have an adult trainee stage 2 card even though been working full time as sparks for about 6 years now and do not regard myself as a trainee at all.but because i did not do a proper apprenticeship and went to college in the evenings off my own back i need nvq to get this card.has anyone else had this problem to and are there any other ways round it or do you have to do the nvq?and to do the nvq do you need to be employed or isit ok to be self employed and do it?help would be much appreciated guys

Do you need to be in work before you can REGISTER for the NVQ 3 ? I know you need to be working to do it but do you need to be working simply to enroll (register) ? The reason I ask is because Ive just finished my 2330 level 3 and am yet to find work. I realise the cut of date for registration is dec 31st 2010 so can I register before dec and then find work and then then complete it ? Thanks in advance

Spoke to delta last week and they seem clueless. Told them ive completed the C&G 2330 during a JTL apprentiship for the past 2 years, going to sack them off to do the NVQ because you carnt do it self-employed (im 29 years old).
Delta reckon you need to take the AM2 first to prove your competent before enrolling for there NVQ!!!
Thats not right is it?

She's right in a sense. The AM2 forms part of the NVQ, so needs to be completed before the NVQ can be awarded. Not sure whether you are exempt or not from taking AM2.
