nvq and am2

hey all

im looking to start my NVQ 3 soon and was wondering will i have to do the am2 afterwards or is it apart of it and if it isnt part of it and i choose not to do it will the jib grade me as approved without it?

The AM2 is a seperate course from the NVQ 3. The JIB will grade you without it provided you have had some sort of practical training and not just ploughing through all the courses without any on site experience.

That said the AM2 will be quite difficult without any experience under your belt, although not as difficult as it once was.

Matt12321, check with your training provider first. It may be that they have included the am2 or [assessment of ocupational competence] in your training scheme.

If you are a practising operative completing the NVQ on its own then no, you don't need the Am2 but if you are on an apprenticeship framework then you do need it to complete the framework which makes the AM2 part of the NVQ (PPA)

i believe the new stance on the am2 is that it is compulsory for completing the nvq

Still no mention from the JIB on the AM2 just the NVQ 3 take a look:
