Are there any alternatives to gain nvq3 whilst unemployed it seems a catch 22 situation can't work on site as an electrician without nvq3 and can't get nvq3 as can't get on site as an electrician.
I know many will say you can gain nvq3 whilst being an electricians mate but I can tell you there are no electricians mates jobs out there that can give you STABLE work to be able to acheive this qualification.
I am 36 years old so aprentiships are out, have been speaking with people on here who beleive some training providers are capable of suplying nvq3 can anyone enlighten me as I am going round in circles.
I have 2360 1/2 ,2391 and putting in for 17th update maybe am2 if it will gain me my cards.

I don't expect a miracle but any info may help.

there are providers who do it online, you could be self employed and do it also, there are various ways to overcome your problem but the real problem is experience, getting the nvq means little if you cant get that job because you dont know what your doing, if however you are experienced then look into above.

I have worked as an electricians mate on and off for 18 years after I completed 2460/1 when I was 18, After a few years when work was short I got a job as a electronics repair technician working for encrypta electonics working on random number generating security seals.
I have done lots of things since including marine electrical via my father.
In 2007 I decided to become qualified so completed 2360/2
and because 16th was being replaced by 17th soon took 2391 and passed that.
Have gained enough experiance since and have been around enough so called electricians that I believe I am ready to work industrial/comercial via employer as an electrician howeveri need my cards.

not sure where you get that from but taken from jib site grading as an electrician requires

Oh cheers understand now so I need am2 then apply.

I ain't git a clue anymore, I'm only going on what I knew used to go on, but I'm forgetting this NVQ3 thingy must be taking the place of an apprenticeship training what was signed by your employer.

I'm not getting involved in anymore JiB threads, because I'm out of date with training criteria, Ive only ever known of apprenticeships, none of this self training stuff :)

Ezzzekiel what do you mean by self employed ? I believe you have to be an employee to obtain nvq3.
I don't know why you have to be an employee but everyone is asking for this before you can start nvq3.
catch 22?

Quickstep do an online NVQL3, Google them. AM2 is only really for apprentices, as it's part of the frame work. The reason for needing to be employed is because someone who is deemed qualified has to sign off each job in your log book. Total of 24 jobs if it's still the same. But the quickstep is hell of alot easier than the logbook JIB apprentices do, i know this because i did the paper logbook, and have a mate that completed it online.
