Discuss Nvq3 employed? in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

i never had the nvq3 untill about a year ago, did it through my local college, im self employed and had it countersigned by napit

Quickstep do an online NVQL3, Google them. AM2 is only really for apprentices, as it's part of the frame work. The reason for needing to be employed is because someone who is deemed qualified has to sign off each job in your log book. Total of 24 jobs if it's still the same. But the quickstep is hell of alot easier than the logbook JIB apprentices do, i know this because i did the paper logbook, and have a mate that completed it online.

Was just looking on site not sure understand it completely but as far as I can see you have to be working to start the course, say I had work with my fathers company for a week or two then applied, I could start a portfolio then even agency work and temporary positions I can get will alow me to get work signed off. who decides how long nvq takes? How much does this cost?

Not sure how much it costs. I think they can be quite expensive. It's down to you, and how long it takes you to complete. I think it can be done in around six months. I know mine took around 14 months, but i was an apprentice at the time, and there was no real rush.
