Best decade of music for you: 70s, 80s or 90s and why? Or indeed earlier/later? Like i say just a wee bit of light-hearted chat for a Friday night:54:

My personal opinion would be the 80s (electro) as its where most of the 'dance' music these days was pioneered and a lot of good soft rock, Simple Minds etc. Love a bit of all genres though.

There's a lot of older members on this forum (bless them) and I think many of them had already lost their hearing by the 70's so you may want to extend the date range back through the 60's, 50's, 40's and maybe even the 30's ;).

Haha i gathered that, so i broadened it and said 'or indeed earlier/later?'

Lol my mums nearly 74 n drums it into me how good the 50s were :laugh3:

90s all the way for me

Will post more later :)

My mums told me all about the boogie! The fashion back then was amazing and every decade comes back around style-wise at some point!!

Now where did i park my Thunderbird hehe...

Dillb - I salute you. The Prods are one of my faves, saw them live twice. 'No good' is my fave tune of theirs (sentimental reasons lol)

The cheesy 90s reminds me of school discos, top notch mister.

OK I may be taking to p with Phil Collins

Early 90s, school discos, gold label, bell bottoms, wiggas, standing on football terraces, abusing girls cos they didnt talk to me (not that they do now).

Good times.

Oft don't get me started on oasis, hence the avatar  Great taste! Love all the indie stuff of the 90s, do you like the stone roses, suede, the charlatans etc?

Well I grew up with the Beatles, then The Kinks, T.Rex, Slade, Roy Wood, Led Zep, Ozzie, Hendrix, and everything inbetween. I would say my fave times musically were when Queen, Kate Bush, electric Folk (Fairport Convention) Jethro Tull came onto the scene and my tastes changed. I love The Levellers, and also Pearl Jam, Metallica, Kings of Leon etc.

I like some of the early stuff like The Everley Brothers, and some of Geordie's Rockabilly stuff is ok. :dita:
