Office space

Do any of you lads have business premises? Do you feel it gives you a more corporate / bigger business look than the average sole trader who works from home. I have office / storage space and a small retail unit... At the moment it's all bills, but early days so I'm not worried yet.

Only you can decide if it works. I ran a successful home 'office' and nobody was aware that it was what it was. I moved to an external office when I was fed up with popping upstairs just to quickly do this or quickly do that. I also started to have a lot of kitchen staff meetings which is just ridiculous.

Controlling your overheads is essential so if you don't need it, don't get it.

I'd stay away from the office/unit idea, what's the point unless you are making so much money you need the space or storage etc.

Don't forget it's not just the rent but rates, electric, heating, insurance, security, fuel and travel to and from, trade waste bin.
