Blimey what a mess, found 2 off 30amp junction boxes buried in walls both then wired in one socket.I guess they were put there as to extend the ring as the original socket had to go below worktop.
From this socket 2.5mm t & e cable goes to another socket(double) above worktop, then we have a fused spur to feed some kitchen lights.
From the original socket we also have another 2.5mm t & e going to another socket(double).
This then goes through a wall into a conservatory it then feed another double socket, somewhere under the floor there must be a junction box as this 2.5 t & e cable then splits to feed one more double socket and the lights.Everything is just added with no fused spurs at all.Apart from the garden shed which does have a fused spur which feeds of a socket in the conservatory, bloody hell what a mess.
Meanwhile we have on the other wall a old cooker junction box filled with plaster and cardboard with a 6mm T & e on a 40 amp MCB.Cable joined with some insulation tape and a old juction box feeding 2 more sockets, wired in 1.5mm !
Clients face was a picture when he saw what I was unearthing. He originally had a gas leak and thought it was about time they did something with the kitchen, about time !
The conservatory is not being touched so i think the best option is to just put it on 13amp FS and protect the cable, agree ????? .It won't be long before he has to do something with that as the roof leaks.
I am chasing the walls and redoing the ring in the kitchen so i know that will be correct.
Its a shame above the kitchen is a tilled floor bathroom so now access and everything has to be completed from underneath.
Sorting a plasterer tomorrow ,although tonight she asked whether i could not present a cheque until the end of the month !!! bloody cheek.
