Old mem mcb type

Hi all, anybody come across these mem mcbs. Don't know what type they are. All it has on them is 3871 part 1. Apologies for the picture will upload a better one tommorow. cannot even find anything on Google or eBay.

Take the offending ones out and look on their sides for the number

Disconnection times need to be met, so if there's no Type number on the device, then you have to make a decision, its that simple.

Exactly my only option would be to take worst case senario and they are all type 4. But my max zs would exceed on pretty much every circuit. Limitaion on test sheet as type cannot be verified

I also can across some square d qo breakers they also don't have any type on them

Its already on the report is it not ?

As a guess (I know, I know ) they are possibly type 1, looking at the part number it has the Amp rating, then the type and then two letters example; 5 1 EG, I don't suppose MEM themselves are any help ?

He doesn't know what type they are though.

The number 1 is just to denote that the device is single phase..
This type of denotation is still in use today.. 1 being single phase and 3 being 3 phase..
I would say that the devices are either type 1 or type 2.. The easiest way to find out would be to carry out a quick load test.
Is there a M number on the side? This denotes breaking capacity..

Ahh I see, so none of the MCBs manufactured that look the same were Type 1 or 3s?

I had these before on a EICR phoned tech department at Eaton was type 3 and gave me max Zs at 5 & 0.4 sec just got to check KA
