Anyone ever used one of these before the onset of designer tool bags that you need a mortgage to buy one?

Lol, me Dad got me the cantilever , with Steadfast screwdrivers , Gordons, Gedore, sockets and Williams super slims spanners, eclipse hacksaw and lot's more goodies.
I still use one of the Steadfast screwdrivers.
Gis a tissue.

Yep, I've made my fair share of holes with one of those. The raw plugs we used with them were like a wooden tube you'd cut to length or for bigger items we used to knoch wooden wedges into the hole and screw into those..

Yes they looked like the arrowroot chews we got when we were kids.
Lots of the older houses around here still have fixings
into the wooded wedges. They have stood the test of time well.

Talking with a 21 year old electricians mate the other week and him moaning about chasing out sockets with a SDS. I went to the van and passed him a bolster chisel & scutch and made him chase out a double socket...... no more moaning about using an SDS lol.

I'm not that old but I started out with a hammer, many of nights with a dead arm after chasing out all day long.

I always knew them as Gladstone bags, apparently not the case though
