One for the oldies...Black jappaned screws

I'm wondering what was the benefit of using these?

I used them with orange MICC, just liked the look. (long time ago now)

Well that's how I was taught by some great old boys,brass does sound good put a few quid on the price suppose.?

Funny, but walking around the basement I opened a door to a storage area and found a pair of boots,
