When I go to open my dryer door (which is on its own circuit) trips the breaker of my living room upstairs. Some electrical work was done but nothing major. It doesn’t trip the other circuit every time, it’s kind of a luck of the draw but it’s fairly frequent.

anyone have any ideas what this could be?

What is tripping RCD or MCB

We had the dryer outlet moved from the washer/dryer closet to the other side of the wall to the garage. It was maybe a 8ft extension done by a professional company. They came back and looked at it and I told them what was going on and they seemed extremely puzzled by it as well. It was going on in another room before, they changed a fuse from the panel cuz it was labeled “arc” on it and they said those can be super faulty....

My friend you said you just had some work done on your home but the people who did the electrical messed up something. I’ve never heard of opening the door of a dryer which turns it off and then it trips a random breaker. If you start your dryer I would believe the breaker tripping but turning it off No. what loads do the breaker that’s tripping serve. Your right the dryer should be on it’s own circuit but it sounds like someone has tapped into that circuit for something else. Let me know what breaking is tripping

My guess is an earth to N fault in the damaged light fitting. This will become a problem when other devices draw large currents.
