Out door cable for lights

Hey guys

Would like recommendations on what type of cable you guys would run for outdoor lights which are covered by a porch ceiling. ( if that makes sense )

The cable would be clipped direct.

Would you guys recommend pond wire which is water proof or SWA or even normal flex wire ??

If no risk of mechanical damage then I'd just use flex.

normal flex is fine esp. if out of the weather. sunlight will slowly degrade white flex. black is better. if in doubt, use pond flex (or silicon flex) to be on the safe side.

flex is waterproof. the stripped ends are not.

PVC sheathed cable may have water resistant properties however, PVC is not waterproof. If submersed for a period of time water will penetrate the PVC.

think the word "weatherproof" would be a better description than "waterproof" in relation to pvc flex.

If low voltage being used as above. You could use extra low voltage equipment, less hazardous
