Outhouse Feed

I am having my outhouse rebuilt to become an enclosed porch, which is attached to the house. The original was fed by a 'mickey mouse' piece of t&e. When the rebuild is finished I want to install lighting and a couple of sockets. Would it be advisable to use a 'garage' consumer unit in the porch and run the lighting/sockets from that, rather than run a number of cables from the house consumer unit, through the house wall in:confused:to the porch. What size of cable should I use if I choose to do it this way?

without more info, it's hard to advise. think though it would be easier and cheaper to extend the ring final ( socket ) circuit for sockets, and extend the lighting for the light/s. bear in mind the requirements of 17th ED. i.e RCD protection.

If you install a 'garage CU' you will still need to get a supply back to the intake...rather pointless.
As above....it sounds like extending existing circuits would be appropriate.

note however regarding the sockets you want to install. if you are spurring off a ring final ( just using 1x 2.5mm cable, then as there are more than 1 added sockets, you must fit a13A FCU at the point where you spur off

better to come from a socket, then the connections are accessible . if breaking in to a cable, you need to either fit a 30A JB ( accessible ) or wagos in an enclosure . obviously safe isolation and working, blah, blah are essential..do not under any circumstances bung it in a choc block under ther floor.
