Hi any help on this please
I have been asked to install a outside wall socket to dwelling.
i am told it will be a 12volt supply.

As only recently qualified part-p and not self-certified
without having to notify building control is there a way to install the socket and 12volt system
i.e pre-assembled (CE) socket set?
Thanks

Hi new to useing forum set up ! be gentle lol
i am 100 miles away in wale at present so unable to see job.
im presuming from quick telephone confersation ( very quick )
that the client has asked for a mains supply socket to outside wall, to supply 12v assessories.
This could be for pond use etc not sure yet.
obviously new to updated products i was wondering if there are any ip rated socket outlets that incorperate 12v transformer for pre assembled 12v kits for outside use?

Again just passed part-p and tying to gain knowledge they dont teach you fast!

P.S.
Whats a TROLL?
secret eletricians insult i take it? lol

that the client has asked for a mains supply socket to outside wall,
If the client has asked for a mains supply socket then they would be requiring a 230V outside socket and then the equipment would have its own transformers supplied from the 230V outlet.

The only likely 12V outlets would be for caravans and such like that would have a 12V supply but you could try supplying them from a suitably rated transformer (probably needing dc).

Outside power supplies are no longer notifiable to building control under Part P unless it is a new circuit (seems hardly justified here).
