Hi

Brain picking time again.

Customer has asked, on their kitchen rewire, for sockets above units for their own over unit lights. Three on each side of the kitchen. I have chased in and connected to a switch on the lighting circuit, one for main lights and one for these over unit lights - sockets labeled "Lamps only" etc.

Customer now does not like as she can see them above the units.

Suggestions please?

TIA

Kindest Regards, David

Builder said the last spark just used to leave the cable coming out of the chase on top of the unit with a few sockets in a surface boxes.

Just because something is marked, does not mean people will NOT plug equipment into it.

5 amps sockets mate
Yes, I've used the round pin off lighting for switching table lamps etc as they were at same level as a standard socket but I was unaware of it being illegal to use standard sockets if labeled and up high above the units. Perhaps she will have adjust her request. What was that upstand you mentioned?

upstand is a piece of trim that fits on top of the cupboards at the front, conceals whats behind.

13A socket MARKED for lighting use only as a lot of these type of lights come fitted with transformers so cant be fitted to 5a sockets Nothing wrong with marking a 13a socket so long as its protected by appropriate size Mcb at the cu

Enlighten me please? so long as MCB and cable is appropriate size a 13a socket can be connected to a 1a mcb should I choose and it is labled as such END OF
