Hi,
Any thoughts regarding supply cable to my property. The t+e supply to my property is fed from the incoming mains of my neighbour and i am concerned one or both of these supplys could become overloaded as we have both recently extended our properties. On inspection my neighbours supply appears to be very old and would have been sufficient for both back when the houses consisted of only one room and kitchen.Would my elec supplier be obliged to upgrade my supply free of charge?.Measuring the L and N conducters on my t+e supply they measure about 7-8mm across and is covered with 60/80 amp fuse.

An old post suggests electricity supplier would have to provide new supply for free if my neighbour insists on my supply being removed from his property , any truth in this?.

Would the cable dimension given (7-8mm across each conductor including insulation) suggest a 10mm2 or 16mm2 T+E?, i have a 10kw shower , 2 ring mains and various other cicuits on my cu all supplied through this cable.
16mm2 single cable would be about 7mm across as a diameter, 10mm2 would only be about 6mm.

Surely my electric provider has no right of way through my neighbours property for the cable feeding my home,if he wants it removed and pays for this would scottish power have no obligation in providing a new supply as they would if there was a fault or damaged cable etc.

They have loads of stuff to protect them like wayleaves when the original contract was taken out
