Hello lads
have question do I need to be part p registered if I would by NicEic domestic installer or proved contractor?
Thanx

You right Dunc I'm not registered with them yet and I'm from aboard so please excuse me my English. My previous post was to help me choice right decision on what I need to do job legally. I think that I can replace CU in my house without informing council but to do rewiring for customer I'm afraid that I will have to contact them and then bring assessor on both sites. :/

Think this through, register (and pay) for Elecsa, do your own CU change, use it for your assessment. Fingers crossed you'll pass and you can notifiy your own CU. Notifiable jobs, thereafter are all done through your "scheme".

Not wishing to put hurdles in your way, but to register with Elecsa, Napit or Niceic, you'll need insurance, tester and calibration, certain exam passes and a number of books for your technical/reference library.

Good luck.

Luckily I have tester, calibration, 5m insurance liability and indemnity have 17th edition and C&G 2391 L3. my biggest problem was finding 2 sites at the same time as Nic require to call for assessor to check you :/
I have about 6years exp but working for my own just couple of months, most customer who like you to do something bigger then changing bulbs or adding a point require Nic, napit...
I will have to replace CU in my house on my cost as my landlord can bother to pay a penny to upgrade any thing in the house
