Part P minor works

Do I have to issue a minor works if I modify or extend a ring main in the main house if it runs through the kitchen on one circuit, even if I haven't touched a thing in the kitchen? I would say yes, but who am I?

If you extend a ring circuit anywhere you need to issue a MWC.

if you don't do anything in the kitchen, means you should get away without notifying, but as sintra says. test and MWC essential.

Elecsa notifiable list says no need for a MWC unless in the special locations??? ie: bathrooms and kitchens

That Elecsa table is a general list of what's notifiable not what requires either a MWC or EIC.
It also states this :

Note that even if a minor work installation does not need to be
certified as complying with Part P, a minor works test/inspection
results certificate must still be completed.

You do have to do a MWC have a look at brb reg. 631.3

Yes may be issued as an alternative to a EIC. Read the whole thing.

yes. i said you had to do a MWC, but not notify. you were saying the elecsa guidance said you didn't have to do a MWC.

Have a read of 633.1 additions and alterations & 610.4

610.4 is a verification. the cable is of correct size, socket is switched and not inter connected. Still doesn't say I have to issue a MWC or EIC. Although this would help to verify the circuit. Still says may be issued, not must or should.
