Hi, Fellas..Nice to meet you all...(just joined)..still lost on the site...lol
I'm considering registering for part P. Does anyone know of a course or similar, available to register, & do all things neccessary for registration, all from one source. Or any hassle free method for a 17th edition sparks (myself) to obtain part P....Thanks fellas
Ooops ! & gals too....Phew!....glad I remembered that bit....lol

welcome, yeh just join one and save yourself some money. there are so called part p courses out there but every things got a price tagged to it.

Get the numbers for the schemes (on above link from Jason) and phone round. They will all be nice a chatty, but you should get a good feel for them. If you are sticking to domestic work only then any wil do, however if you are going to council work etc, then I think NIC are the preffered option.

Im with ELECSA and have found the whole process quite pain free (except parting with the money)!!!:D

agree with Graeme, I spoke to Elecsa this morning and process as explained to me seemed much more straightforward than I'd expected.

Simplest scenario - assuming you already have 17th edition - is replace consumer unit in your own home! They said you can simply do this and tell them after the event (seems a bit too simplistic to me). Apparently they'll come out and check it and presumably be looking to check your test results?

Wrote the cost down but don't have the note to hand as I write this, but it was around 370 quid plus vat for initial registration and first years fee.

Would be interested to read any tales here from anyone who's directly experienced this initial Elecsa process?

cheers.Pat

edited - yes it's 370 +vat so 434.75 and Elecsa landline number is 01623 404 515 (if like me you're anti 0845/0870) else it's 0845 634 9043

do a search on the search tab with elecsa there are quite a few on here. a mate of mine did his the other month and was more than happy with it nice straight forward guys who believe it or not are not there to trip you up. also its not a knowledge test they are more than happy for you to look through the regs or gn3 for the answer. there is a link on the business section on here for cheap public liability insurance that you will need in place before the assessment. if you have them you will need your own copy of the regs, on site guide, eawr, a current calibration certificate for your test meter. you will recieve a check list prior to them coming but at least you are in the know now :)

Hi,

I passed one a few months ago and used a training company called O.L.C.I
I think I paid around ÂŁ80 for it but not really sure

hope it helps
