Passed EAL level 3 electrical installation, now what?

Basically the title but a few things to add to that.

I've been struggling to find an apprenticeship. There are almost no apprenticeships in my area (Birmingham). Am I looking in the wrong places? I tried JTL, job sites and a bunch of electrical training sites and I can't seem to find anything.

I feel so down about it, because it's what I want to do and I cant even find an opportunity to do it. Im working a job that's completely unrelated to electrical and the moment (I'm 20) and I feel like my time is running out. It just feels like I wasted two years in college on a course that's useless.

Any suggestions?

Might be worth contacting the JIB about what courses to take next to get further grading. What to do to get approved or an installation electrician grading. I’m not 100% sure on what exactly EAL leads to. You’ll have to complete an AM2 practical assessment and a testing qualification I think.

EAL 2/3 Electrical installation is equivalent to C&G, despite what some people think. Both are classed as tech qualifications. Both put you on the same road.

Get an ecs card and just get on site as a mate. Www.ecscard.org

If you search electricians mates, you'll find the agencies who will get you a start.

It's more beneficial to get your qualifications while working in the industry as it'll make more sense to you as you go along.

I started when I was 20 and did EAL as I went along, I worked on the same firm for 5 years. I know some good sparks who didn't get involved till they were 25.

You could look at getting this:
C&G 2356-99 NVQ3 Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker (Mature Candidate Assessment).
I have no idea how much it would cost.
