Hey, I have my napit assessment coming up in a week and am a bit nervous about what questions will be asked. And what if there was a question I was unsure on, could this count as a fail or do they help you through it.
Going back a little while to when I was based in England and underwent NAPIT assessment:
A set of questions on the regs, a look at all your insurances and calibration certs. A look that you have your books. On the job some very basic checks they will do, and a few questions about testing (and ask you to undertake some basic tests).

That's well over 2 years ago now, and have heard since that one guy I used to work with showed NAPIT a job, no bonding connected (it was there, not connected) and he passed. Just make sure the job(s) you take inspector to are in order, and you'll be fine!

They say get the tea/coffee out with biscuits. I slipped up here as I don't touch the drink, my inspector had to say any chance of getting the kettle on - I directed him to the kettle!

How in depth do they go regarding the installation you show then. There the one who is putting there name to you so I imagine it will go deep. I mean do they remove switches, take down downlights etc

The project I had assessed was a ÂŁ30k shopfit.
due to delays with the developers (they were suppose to pass designs for mezzanine floors within 5 days, the took over 30)
I had a Melin Gerin Temporary board with a ring main of 3 double sockets and a radial of 1 x TP&N 10 KVA transformer.
the project had been suppose to have been completed.
The time of the visit, the site was a full construction job. Full PPE even to get to the unit, never mind on the unit itself.

The assessor could see the permanent board (another Merlin Gerin) with about 30 FP200 Gold cables glanded in but not terminated.
all the Kick roses had been second fix, the fire alarm system had been partaially 2nd fixed, the CCTV system, the IP network and the telephone system all were incomplete.

I had 2 circuits for the assessor to exam (the 10 KVA TX and a ring main with a total of 1 meter of cable an 3 double sockets)
the assessor didn't require to demonstrate my testing.

I think he doesn't normally go onto commercial building site, and doesn't normally see basket tray.

In my case they didn't go into ant depth on my project, however seeing the type of project (the assessor stated thazt he normally sees rewires), the spec of the installation and the scope of the work was a change for him.

I think that I was the exception rather than the rule.

this is a picture of the finish project
