Not sure to be honest, my tester has settings for all sorts of different items and it passes or fails! I don't do too much PAT testing because its rather boring.

If you look at your copy of Code of Practice you'll see Table 15.2 on page 75 tells you 1.0M ohm as a minimum reading is fine.

modern dishwashers ( unlike mine which has 2 arms and a bottle of fairy ) have electrinic modules which usually gives rise to a small amount of leakage. 1Meg. is good.

Why are you PAT testing your dishwasher?

You may well find yourself doing PAT on a landlord's rented out furnished property, and a dishwasher will have to be tested.

This is normal for a dish washer it will have a radio-interference suppression unit fitted which has a 1M resistor across Live & neutral. with some caps thrown in for good measure.
