Hi Forum

I have rewired my house and then had a plasterer come in and skim the rooms. He hasn't plastered level and in some cases a few millimeters of the pattress sticks out of the plaster. As a consequence, there is a gap around the switches and they are not flush to the wall.

Do you know of any raised finger plates or something similar that can cover this up. I have already had a go at the plasterer, but i cannot have re-skim done. I am happy to use finger plates, but i have struggled to find any raised plates.

Can anyone recommend any?

Thanks in advance...

As the plasterer has Scarpered, you could always Bodgeit with some homemade surround frames from 5mm MDF.

You could try a " converta socket" although you may have to use a three gang for the fixing holes to align in a double box; I'm not sure of the options for this. These sockets are quite proud of the wall and may give you the extra few millimeters you need. Have a look in your wholesaler to weigh the form up.

Thanks for your feedback micknew. The electrical work was fine and the back plates fitted level with a 3mm recess for the plastering. What i didn't count on was the incompetence of the plasterer and the fact he was a useless ---.
