pcs on ring main

after some advise recently done job on office refurb under instructions of my company only lighting and power nothing to big 3 ring mains in office area all in dado trunking passed my concerns to our boss about us having more ring mains as on one ring there is possibly going to be 30 pcs on 1 ring not happy about it my self but our boss says there only pcs they dont pull much any thoughts

there on 32a rcbo at moment 30ma i have suggested at least putting them on 32a mcb but was told the same answer there only pcs not to sure what pcs pull as staff dont move in to wednesday but im sure were going to have tripping problems or am i worrying about nothing not that im that worried because it will be our gaffer with the red face

There's a thread on here about this very subject and the earthing needed for them. Someone posted on there a few days back a calculation about how much each PC will leak. Sorry but I cant remember exactly what it was called but a littledigging will turn it up I'm sure

Just sit back & wait.......30 P.C's on one RFC......trip......trip......trip......

Any sort of consideration given to the earthing arrangements for these circuits by your 'gaffer'???

Leakage will be an issue

From experience, I allow 1mA for each workstation, 30 PCs is way too many, remember many RCBOs trip at around 20mA.

You should ask your boss for his thoughts on high protective conductor currents and high integrity earthing arrangements, we might all learn something ;)

Yes he will have a red face. Make sure you can see his face when he is asked "why are they not working".

3 pc's and monitors can amount to 20+ mA enough to trip a 30mA rcd, just think of the overtime he's gonna pay you for sorting his c*** up. lol

Well it’s Wednesday morning, be sure to let us know what happens. That’s if you can find time while sorting the mess out.

yes breakers tripped today as i expected client not to happy boss has told us to replace rcbo for mcb not as many staff turned up so theve spread them round various desks up to now everything ok on 32a mcb we are to pull an extra 3 ring mains in at weekend didnt have the balls to say told you so but was laughin inside

Ha ha, when you gonna to tell him about high integrity earthing, or you gonna wait until the jobs finished. lol
