Aplogies if this thread has been done before.

When you go to a job what are your pet hates that you find a previous sparks has done? :banghead:

You’ve just reminded me Ranger. Instrument fitters, they wait until the tray work is finished. Before the first cable is run there’s pipes and bits of crap strewn everywhere.

One a do remember was my boss asking to borrow my big cable shears, I cleared off and left him quite happily chopping through air pipes, thermocouple and signal cables. He later borrowed a hammer and smashed all the JB’s they’d bolted in the middle of the tray.
A bit of a row developed after that. I was shop steward for both gangs, piggy in the middle!

Wow, whoever did it should be dismissed, if the switch is faulty then get it replaced as a matter of emergency or if it is linked out to enable production to continue there should be another operater standing next to another stop cct to ride shotgun
Outrageous !

Are you serious you condone linking out switches in safety circuits

ant my biggest one is other trades that don't understand the "first in best dressed rule" how many times have i done a lovely bit of tray to come back and find some pipes routed where it was!!

On the bigger projects, you should have what's known as ''Combined Service Drawing's'' ...Woe betide anyone, that deviates from those drawings, without getting a change order!! lol!!!

Yes, read my second point about the second operator

I did read it the first time and if it all goes horribly wrong after the first shift change who is responsible. I would love to see the risk assessment on this but there probably isn't one but then again the production manager would back you up in court for doing it wouldn't he ??

I stand by my first comment second operator or not it's a slippery slope when you resort to linking out switches in safety circuits as the precedent is set for the future
