I have not done much testing in my time as an electrician, and i am wondering if someone could help me with a few tests i cant seem to get the hang of??
They are :

PFC (trying to fill in a test sheet and need to find out how to find the PFC for the DB?)

Ze (again trying to find the Ze at origin?)

any help explaining what tester, what setting and how to do it would be a great help!

Ze

Use a loop tester.

Disconnect Main Earthing Conductor from MET and clip green test lead to it.

Place red and black probes on Line & Neutral terminals on incoming side of main switch and test.

Re-connect Main Earthing Conductor

PFC

Your PFC is the highest reading from PSCC (Prospective Short Circuit Current) and PEFC (Prospective Earth Fault Current)

PEFC

Use the prospective fault current mode of a loop tester.

Clip your green test lead to the earth bar.

Place red and black probes on Line & Neutral terminals on incoming side of main switch and test.

PSCC

This test is the same as PEFC but can be done with just the red and black leads connected to Line & Neutral terminals on incoming side of main switch.

NOTE: The main switch should be open for all the above tests.

If you are having difficulty getting your head around inspection and testing I would recomend Practical Guide to Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations by Christopher Kitcher ISBN No
978 0 7506 8449 1.

Its not as heavy as Guidance Note 3 on the theory and has lots of actual photgraphs of testing so you can see exactly how its done.

Hope that helps

Chris
