Got to a chaps house where he said that the lights have stopped working in a room and he is getting shocks off the taps.

Got on end of my makeshift wander lead out earth on end put my t5's on the tap and was reading 230v... so asked if he had been messing around with anything, he said noooooooo i haven't touched anything so turned the power off and asked to see the lights that were down and found this pile of sh+t.

surprise surprise he had been adding down lights to the room and did the normal thing of putting all the black together and all the reds together.. well done mate well in the process of trying to kill our self you have also taken wires out and put them on the water pipe and the the hell is the 6mm doing?

After asking what his electricians number was as i wanted to speak to him he finally found the balls to tell the truth. after looking closer the earth's were cut out on loads of the wires.

i completely agree with Phil i did enjoy it when the wife was kicking right off about trying to kill her and he was not to touch the electrics again. i know it wasn't helping but i also pointed out a few things to add to his telling off, a bit naughty but he deserves it. cadspark again your completely right there, it did take me ages to almost rewire the hole thing as he had cut the earth's of of a cupple of the wires and the terminations he did manage to bodge together was no good.

I think it was on here that I read about the bloke building a chair in his shed to electrocute his wife, but she worked out what he was upto... This is even better, she wont even suspect a thing. :30:

Thanks for the pictures, wow a bit dodgy to say the least.
What I find interesting is the fact that they seem to almost always say that they havent been doing anything!
This wiring just does itself.

If you want to kill your wife the very least you can do is disconnect the main earth clamp on the water incomer, line to hot, neutral to cold and in the cu connect line to the busbar, do it right ffs. (did I just say that out loud?)

Sounds like a guy who tried to service his own brakes a few years ago...

Afterwards they were grinding and squealing so he took it to a garage. They asked if he'd done anything to it... "no, nothing at all" was the reply.

Mechanics took the wheels off to find the brake pads fitted backwards!
