After reading lots of posts, like how much will I earn etc, has forced me to check every posters profile apart from those people I know and respect via the forum.
I appreciate that not everyone can be bothered to fill in their profile details, like what quals they have, what their status is etc.
People ask questions expecting an educated answer, but as I do check profiles, to enable me to give an informed answer, only to be faced with, Electrician etc with no background information. Which makes me think, Chancer, DIYer, etc, of course I could be entirely wrong in my assumption.
Is it to much to ask people to fill in their details? apparently yes it is, I have posted before on this subject, personally I couldn't give a ----, as to what quals people have, but you have to admit it makes it so much easier to answer questions when we know who and at what stage people are at with regards to training etc.
I have my tin hat and flak jacket on, expecting abuse from all over.:D:mad: Rant over go to town on me, I have thick skin.

Sparksburntout thought he got away with bad grammar last night. His card is marked.

not again!

I often look to peoples profile to guage what kind of experience and /or knowledge they have. Often I am disappointed at seeing nothing there of any kind of information. I suppose people should not be obliged to give info about themself but it is really helpful and gives a useful insight into how to pitch your responses etc. When I joined, like a fool(?) I virtually blurted out my life story, potted version anyway. But then I do feel ok for people to know who and what they are talking to when considering any contribution I make.
I do resonate with the ranty part of your post @Pete999 but I do take it all with a pinch of salt and can like others fill in the blanks from the posts people write. I think it also says quite a lot about those who give no information.

236/1 236/2 went into dealing room installs then IT and thought it would be a good idea to get back in to sparking but to be honest the day rates are rubbish and I am better off prostituting myself in IT as there is more money it which is sad.

Pete999 we have all chipped in for your Christmas present to cheeer you up ;o))))

I've got a neon screwdriver hanging around in my garage somewhere, could you please let me know what qualification that earns me.

I agree though, it's something I look at. Makes it easy sometimes when I can see trainee under someones name.

Even thought I love you @Pete999 and want to have your babies, I am one that does not fill in my info.
I just don't like filling the things out. I don't like my info being so easily viewed. I maybe too paranoid.
I don't even put my City down.. I'm just down as Lancs.
You want to see my FaceBook profile. Everything is false..

Don't dump me mate... I'm still the same arse I've always have been...:(
