Hi could anyone help please, im trying to put a pir switch onto the wall running straight from the leccy supply but it either stays on all the time or doesnt work, should be simple but really struggling, any help would be appreciated......

good.time guard is what i use. not had to replace one yet. can't say the same for the orange shed ÂŁ8.99 crap though.

I installed one of those last February (500W PIR) from that particular company and it failed, wouldn't go off. I replaced it at no cost to the client and it has worked ever since. So you never know.
I've used timeguard kit - for time switches, not the PIR floods.
When you think of it, It wouldn't unfair to say that most commercially available electronic components are the ones rejected by NASA and the Military for being out of tolerance.

well im gonna see if b&q take it back then add few quid and get better one cause this will obviously be for free now.. and his light has been on for 4 weeks, lol probably ow him

Good luck with your quest ......

Personally they're all, more or less, from the same 'stable'.

I think the best you can do is to warn the customer before hand that this fitting might not work and blame the manufacturers from a far off land - just an aside when you have paid a fortune for your new fitting, check the manufacturer and which country is has been imported from !
