Looking at a job to price for some remedial work. 2 things i have noticed and mentioned it to the customer are, no RCD on shower circuit nor on the upstairs lighting circuits. This has been listed as code 4, not to current regs.

I have said it should be a code 2 and need doing asap.

This report has been done, no code 1's but code 2's, so should be classed as unsatisfactory, right?

Why should it be code 2? If it was wired before 2008. Its ok so only a code 4

Just looked at the latest download and they have changes the content from the version i have printed out.

On mine it reads this.

Neither local supp bonding nor RCD protection is present in a bathroom or shower room. Note: Where the presence of local supp bonding cannot be confirmed by inspection, it may be verified by measurement.

Its on page 17 of my copy, just past the pic of the MK RCD

Ok fair enough.

I read this thinking that its says so

"Neither local supp bonding nor RCD protection is present in a bathroom or shower room. Note: Where the presence of local supp bonding cannot be confirmed by inspection, it may be verified by measurement."

I don't mind admitting i'm wrong, glad i have asked though

Mate we all see it differently. From what I gather the point you are reading needs all 3 conditions not to be satisfied in order for it to be coded 2. Have a real good read of it.

Your probably right, will be binning the copy of my ESC guide and downloading the latest version, as they read different on a few different things!
