Afternoon all, Have just done a Periodic and am currently writing it up was wondering about the following. The property is a 2 bed bungalow and is going to be rented out in the new year, the electrical installation was spot on, been done about 5 years ago and no problems. However they hadn't installed mains powered smoke detectors but had 2 battery ones, not interlinked, one in hall and one in living room.

Have had a look through some old posts, from my understanding and from reading these it's not a statutary requirement to have them but is recommended. Just wondering how to deal with it on the form. Any thoughts gratefully recieved :)

I wouldn't put anything on the PIR other than a note in comments box to see covering letter.
On your invoice do an N.B. to say that although not required by regs. the landlords letting clause in his house insurence may require mains interlinked smoke detectors, not the purely battery operated ones fitted.
You have covered yourself & may get a job from it!
