Not sure what program you were watching, but there was no one called Master Bates or Seaman Staines in Captain Pugwash, and the cabin boy was not called Roger either. It is was a student joke that has now become an urban legend apparently. Though Master Mate is quite close.Oh yes Captain Pugwash with Master bates and Seaman Staines it took me a long time to work that out having watched it as a kid. Perhaps Cap'n Redbeard instead eh @buzzlightyear ?
Nah. That was Dick Emery"Oh you are awful, but I like you" Sid Snott
So how come so many large container ships have been hi jacked? You have a rowing boat, you have more chance of being attacked and losing the battle to a duck.......
You are rather well informed BE you got shares or something. joke.Because they are/were crewed by cheap inexperienced labour, many ships that operate in those seas now have anti piracy equipment fitted and it happens a lot less.......wouldn’t go through there in a yacht though
Pirate is right thought those Somali are state sponsored terrorists....they even sell shares in the spoils before attacking.
