Kranich Hooks for Plain Tile roofs, as anyone used them, has anyone even seen them? - a roofer we use a lot keeps telling me to get them but even when i google them i can't find anything.

Anyone know any suppliers, i need to check them out.

Alternergy do K2. Just taken delivery of some plain tile hooks ready to go on a job Monday. Never used them before but they look like they'll do the job.

we use something similar to this, the ones i'm looking for are supposed to replace the tile. same size.... with no need for lead underneath... can't find them online... he's no idea where to get them from.

what we fouind was the narrower plain tile roof hook (KD12846) tended to break the tile if any weight was put on it (especially on clay tiles, concrete not so much) What we ended up doing was removing the tile under the hook and replacing it with lead so the tile was effectively floating in free air. The one time we couldn't get this roof hook so we used the wider one (KD12758) and have never looked back, it's the pups!! Being much wider and thinner it conforms over the tile surface. On concrete tiles we now don't have to use lead at all. on clay I still fold a sheet of lead the same width as the tile around the tile underneith so that if the tile does break it's held in by the lead. Since we started doing this we haven't had a single tile break.
For cable entry we then use a solardek flashing. This piccie shows the flashing and roof hooks on a concrete roof. These tiles are very thinck and suit the brackets well but they also work well on the smaller plain tile [ElectriciansForums.net] Plain Tile Roof Hook
You can get the hooks direct from Krannich
