building height is 2.4 meter

[ElectriciansForums.net] planning
I want to fit solar panels on top
its not close to next doors boundiers

what are the rules on this I got it in my head not higher than 4 meters and 9m2 does this included the building ?

so 2.4 meter plus panel height or have I misunderstood?

I believe these could be restrictions for a ground mounted system, I know for certain the 9m2 figure but not sure of the applicability of the 4m figure - could be something to do with distance to boundary!

Domestic is all in the second link I gave.

The 4m rule is for standalone solar not on a building.
The 9m2 rule is for standalone solar not on a building.

For domestic roofs:
Array must not be more than 200mm beyond plane of roof. (Part 40 Class A Para A.1.(a))
Array must not go above ridge line. (Part 40 Class A Para A.1.(b))

Those 2 conditions make a flat roof tricky in a domestic situation (and difficult to make fall under permitted development) which is why I said you would probably need planning permission.

Bruce
