Hi all

what is the best way to fill in the cable wall chase , i have been using multi finish but i am not pleased with the results what do you fellow chaps/ladys do

cheers
Richard

Bit of bonding coat mixed with multi finish

Just putting multi finish in a chase will just end up cracking

By mixing the bonding coat in, it thickens it slightly and makes it easier to apply, having said this i dont bother plastering i trained to be an electrician not a plasterer and truth be told im useless at it, for a good job pay someone!

Bond up the chase with bonding then multi finish once the bonding has gone off a bit. A bit of PVA and water in the chase first helps everything stay moist and generally crack free too.

1 coat will do it ok....you can get it in standard sized bags and if mixed properly will go on good and stay in (i try not to mix it too wet as it can slump if not careful).....drying times about the same as thisle..........

Hi glen spark

do you mean one coat plaster and youcan fill the chase in one go with out cracking or bulging
You can get it from wickes in either small are the large (thistle sized) bags....so it depends on how many chases you have to do....i would say theres always room for some in the van. Now then, You can work and polish this stuff just like a multi or board finish so you just get it mixed and into the wall like normal and then give it a while then just work it with the trowl in the normal way....no slumping,...no cracks,...no fuss...........job done...lol....(a tommy walsh moment)......:26:
