plastering!!!

Today as the plasterer informally use is on hols I thought I'd have a go at a ceiling having just fixed 10 JCC LED's.

I like to work on the 60/40% rule only then wearing 40% of the plaster home.

Failed!!!

It is a dark craft is plastering and no matter how I do it the industrial sander and poly filler is much needed.

Any of you guys mastered this dark craft? If you have please share the secret with a lesser mortal.

Nope, about 1 square foot is all i can hope to get smooth in one go.

The secret of it is to take your time, clash it on and leave it. Splash a load of water on it and smooth it out, do that a few times.

Like an idiot spent hours cleaning the car this weekend it looked half reasonable when I'd done now it's minging again! Me thinks next time change before leaving. Actually better still don't plaster!

Once you have done it a few times you realise where you were going wrong the first time.

Trev I took me time alright took me hours! Even used a water misting sprayer to smooth it off.

Just a dark art that eludes me.

I think it's the technique you need to get spot on, although I'm crap at it too, looks like Stevie Wonders been at it when I've finished.

I struggle to change any accessory (I am a short bottom) therefore plastering aint for me... Tried it one on a chase "HOW HARD CAN IT BE" I was sooo wrong...

I can just about manage patching up after myself if it's small holes.

Other than that... phone a friend.

Plastering as such isn't really done here its all taped and filled plasterboard and timber frames.

come om pete, nobody can do a decent job of plastering without first undergoing a full frontal lobotomy. ( the only advance on this is a complete brain removal to be a plumber. further down the line is a builder, but f*** knows how you make one of them ).
