Hello,
I am wiring up some additional lights in a room in my house. I could easily make this work but I want to check if anyone can provide the best option to minimize wire usage. I have laid out the room and lights in relation to switches and power sources.
The key for what each item is:
1. White in color are in ceiling lights on a switch at location on right wall. This will be a 2 gang box with 2 switches.
2. Blue in color are 2 in ceiling lights on a switch also at location on right wall.
1 and 2 will be controlled independently from the switches in the switch location on right wall.
3. Green in color is the current light source that has a switch at the location on the front wall.
Power comes into the light and as shown runs near light on number 1.
My intent is to tap off of this power line run one 14/2 wire to 1st light in number 1. Then continue to first light of number 2. At the first of each of these sets I will run a 14/2 back to the switch box to create two switched sets. See yellow wire routes. Yellow box is the junction box to tap the power. Is this the most efficient way to run this? Light number 1 on set number one has a lot of wires coming into this box. This type of light is the canless led that has the little power boxes and I am thinking I might need to do something different at this location.
Any advice is welcome. Thank you!
