recently the government has been testing the waters to see how the public would feel about the NHS being privatised, naturally this did not go down too well and they are now trying to privatise the health service by the back door, this may mean nothing to politicians but it may matter to you, your family and your children in later years.I would appreciate it if as many people as possible would sign the petition below.many thanks Phil

Won't sign. The NHS needs to be restructured. Sure keep A&E, midwifery and doctors but if your doctor says you need a knee op why can't a private company do the op, paid for by the NHS?

The NHS is far too large, has too many administrators, administering the administrators!

Don't want to lose any Friends here but IMO this government has killed the NHS, I can't and won't support anything the Conservative party support, end of, I think politics should be a no no here, just because I may get banned by Sintra if I air my view haha.

Agree on the administrators bit,my wife works in admin and there are more people checking up on her work than helping her do her job. There are already private hospitals carrying out work on behalf of the nhs,but the issue here is that in the case of your knee op they are not saying who should do it, just that if you want it done you pay for it! thats fine for money men but what about the ordinary joe,the nhs was set up so the less well off could receive treatment not just the wealthy.

TBH the NHS needs a good shake up there are to many up there own managers and admin more concerned with numbers and stats than patient care and well being

The private health care companies are only exploiting the poor performance that seems the norm in the NHS system and you can't blame anyone for that but the NHS managers

Privatisation of the NHS started years ago when some of the support services began to be outsourced (laundry and cleaning to name two) the labour government continued the trend with it's PFI new hospitals which are now close to bankrupting at least one NHS trust local to me so it's not just the current government

If a private hospital can do an operation cheaper than an NHS hospital questions need to be asked as to why the NHS system is so ineffective at being cost efficient.

The tories want it private, they want us to be like America with insurance and not a free NHS, they have sold everything else, the NHS is the last thing left, I will never agree with anything they try to do, we could start a debate in the Arms if you like, I will give you my views about them in there away from public viewing and a ban lol.

Another thing, by raising the bar to "degree" level nurses, people below this academic level, don't get a look in and this is outrageous.

Don't recall the Tories using PFI's to build loads of unaffordable hospitals that are now bankrupting some hospital trusts that was ???? let me think that was B***r & B***n. The NHS isn't free we pay tax and national insurance for the privilege and give the NHS services away to all comers that land on our shores without payment

May be it reflects the falling standards of education and under performing teachers and students or is it that as treatments improve and possibly become more complicated a higher level of knowledge is required to maintain a higher level of patient care

Which is fair enough, but you still need the lower levels of care so allow nurses to enter with A levels and set a glass ceiling so they have to get a degreee to pass beyond it.

No wonder the people leaving colleges without degress feel let down.

That's when they become "Electricians"

My misses is a midwife - she trained as a general nurse then specialised.

These days, the only way into midwifery is by a degreee, so no bedside manners, training etc and a lot of them think they they are aloof!

That would be back in the days when common sense was a lot more common then
